Welcome back to the Proje’ blog! There are a number of reasons why the winter can mean trouble for your car – underuse, harsh weather conditions, and salted, gritted roads to name a few. So, it’s a good idea to beef up the protection on your vehicle over the Christmas period and beyond to make sure that you keep everything looking fantastic and avoid starting the new year with an expensive problem.
What this means is getting that exterior protected from top to bottom – that’s paintwork and tires. And for that, the two key processes you’re going to need are:
- Dressing your tires
- A high-quality ceramic coating for your vehicle
Here’s the lowdown on how to do it.
- How to dress your tires
All that salt, grit and mud is hell for your tires in winter, so you’ve got to keep them in check even more than normal around this time of year. But you also need to be careful when you’re treating them, so you don’t move the antiozonant on the rubber, which stops them from cracking.
We’ve taken this into careful consideration and come up with Fusion Tire Dressing – a water-based formula that dresses and protects while being kind to your tires. The results you get with Fusion are fantastic; we’re pretty sure it’s the best tire dressing around. And of course, it’s super easy to use. Here’s what you need to know:
Using Fusion Tire Dressing
Ensure that your tires are clean and dry, then apply a generous amount of Fusion Tire Dressing to one of our Blue Applicator Pads. Then, start at the bottom of the tire and work towards the top, evenly work Fusion Tire Dressing onto the face of the tire. An even application prevents any pooling in the cracks or natural grooves on your tire, so that your end result is an even shine all over the tire.
Leave the dressing to set for 10 minutes or so, before using our Black Mamba Trim Towel to wipe away the excess dressing. Then, take a look at your tires. Are they how you want them? Shiny enough? If not, repeat the process.
And if you want a really good expert tip, put the tire dressing on at the end of a day, then leave it overnight. In the morning, use the Black Mamba Trim Towel to set the dressing. This allows the Fusion Tire Dressing plenty of time to work and create that brand-new shine on your new tires.
That’s the tires done, not on to the ceramics…
- How to get a stunning shine on your car with a ceramic coating
The best defence against the harsh winter conditions is a ceramic coating. What you see is a slick, shiny surface but what you’ve got is so much more – it’s like armor for your vehicle. Just follow these steps and you’ll end up with a supercharged, protected vehicle that will breeze through the winter.
Before you get start, you’ll want to make sure your car is freshly washed and dried – check out our Vital Car Wash Soap for a good place to start. Once your car is dried, reach for the Prep Spray. Just spray it directly on to the surface of your vehicle, wait a few seconds, then wipe the surface of your paintwork with a clean microfiber towel to make sure that it’s completely dry before applying your ceramic coating.
Time for the ceramics! Our Ceramic Coating is an effective, easy-to-use ceramic spray that provides incredible protection to your paintwork for a year per application. It’s extremely durable, with strong hydrophobic properties, and effective at filling in light scratches to ensure a more resistant, smoother surface that you can really show off.
Use a Blue Applicator Pad to apply our ceramic evenly to your paintwork, then wait for 2 minutes for it to cure before using a clean microfiber towel to give the area a really good buffing.
That’s it – just two easy steps to a supreme layer of protection for your car, meaning that the cold weather and salt can’t cause any damage. Now, you’ve protected your bodywork and tires. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the festive season!
