Welcome back to the Proje’ blog! One of our main goals is to bring you professional standard products that are easy to use, stress-free, affordable and quick. And in the world of detailing, one of the top products that professional garages use is SiO2 – that’s Silicon Dioxide. Let’s take a look at why it’s such a well-used product, and how we’ve put it into a home-safe product for you.
What is SiO2?
SiO2 is a compound that is used as a high-quality, durable coating on car paintwork – you might hear it referred to as a ceramic coat. It uses its chemical make-up to bond with your paintwork, sealing it from contaminants and creating a hard, protective layer that won’t break down and is much easier to clean than direct paint. When you see a brand-new car on an expensive ad, they often spray it with water to show off the beading on the surface of the car – that’s the effect a ceramic coating has – it’s hydrophobic, so everything just slides right off.
How Have Proje’ Tweaked it?
We believe in bringing products together at Proje’; it makes them more efficient and more cost effective. Our SiO2 quick coat is a long-lasting, tough product designed to give you three benefits in one – clean, shine and protect. We have spent hours in the Proje’ lab designing the most scientific of our products yet; a blend of cleaning agents, natural soap and protective SiO2 coating that leaves your surfaces immaculately clean, gleaming and shielded from harmful contaminants. Not only is this a 3-in-1 product, but it also works on a huge range of surfaces. Use it on your paintwork, glass, chrome and plastic for all-over protection, then take it inside your house to give that Hollywood finish to your home and furniture surfaces too! Now, that’s value!
If you’re using a home setup to do your detailing, then there can often be a fair amount of time in between your cleaning, shining and sealing processes. In a non-professional environment, this can mean that there are a few contaminants that always work their way back on to your vehicle during the changeover. While this isn’t going to cause massive problems if you keep on top of your detailing, it isn’t going to deliver perfection.
The main advantage of a 3-in-1 product like SiO2 quick spray, is that it does all three of these processes simultaneously. As it cleans, it also shines and protects. There is no time in between for any dust or dirt to come into contact with your surfaces. That’s what you call efficiency – and that’s what makes SiO2 quick spray the best spray ceramic coating on the market today.
Don’t be Afraid
Now, a lot of people get naturally put off by chemical names like SiO2, but you really don’t need to be. Our spray has a neutral PH, is completely safe to use on all surfaces – not just your car’s paintwork – and is actually environmentally efficient, as our blend of cleaning and sealing means you don’t need to use lots of water to clean your car any more. Just spray and wipe – it’s this and two microfiber towels from here on in!
How to Use Our SiO2 Quick Spray
Using our SiO2 quick spray couldn’t be easier. All you need to do is spray directly on to the surface you are working on, then really rub that mixture in with one folded microfiber towel. This is your cleaning phase.
Now, it’s all about moving quickly. Before the mixture dries, get a second towel and buff everything that’s left until it dries. This is your shining and protecting phase. You’ll find it works quickly and easily – no smears, no smudges and no stains – just a perfect, clean shine.
Work over a small area of the vehicle at once, then repeat the process until the desired surface has been completely covered. Now, take a break and bask in the glory of that shine!
A Note About Our Other Products
Ceramic spray coating can be a standalone task thanks to our 3-in-1 SiO2 Quick Coat. But if you’ve got a full day and you really want to delve down into detailing processes, have a think about how the pros do it:
That’s Vital Car Wash Soap to wash, Prep Spray to prepare the surface for a coating, 9H Spray Ceramic Coating for your durable coat, then regular top-ups with the SiO2 Quick Spray. If you’ve got the time and the enthusiasm, these four processes combined will make you – and your car – the envy of everyone!
