Welcome back to the Proje’ blog. We’ve been holding off for as long as possible, but it’s definitely not summer anymore – in fact we’re already well into fall now. This tends to be the season when people let their car routines go a bit, as the cold weather starts to come in and the outdoor mood from the summer subsides. The bad news about this though, is that fall brings its own challenges with it that attack your car and can wind up causing you a headache – or even lasting damage – if you don’t tackle them. Here are our top 3 fall survival tips.
- Wax and Seal
If you live in an are with trees, then you’re going to start noticing far more debris hitting the roads. Along with this, you get mud and dirt kicking up from underneath too, so you get attacked from above and below. Get in quickly and get your bodywork protected now. Use our Rapid Quick Wax to provide relentless water beading and water sheeting protection that lasts for weeks and even months. With its quick mist-on and wipe-off application, it makes it easy to wax your entire car in under 20 minutes. It will not stain plastic trim and is completely safe on all painted and non-painted surfaces. And crucially, it gives you all the protection you need from a base layer, without the burden of time.
When you’ve finished with the wax, it’s time to seal. It’s the best news you can possibly get when an auto detailing product can do two jobs in one, but our Hybrid Wax Sealant really does stand out. That desirable, natural shine you see at car meets and on television really sets a vehicle apart from others, and now you can achieve that same result from your home in a matter of minutes. Not only does our Hybrid Wax Sealant deliver depth, clarity and shine but it also conceals any swirls from water damage and minor scratches from grit. Even better though, it fills any minor indentation from debris as you wax, so that any imperfections in your bodywork are smoothed over in one continuous, shiny finish. With the sealant used in conjunction with the wax, you’re going to give your bodywork that extra protection it needs from the autumn elements, and quality products such as the ones we offer at Proje’ will also last you through the winter freeze.
- Carpet Focus
Along with the extra mud, leaves and debris you find underfoot, comes the extra strain on your interior – in particular your carpets. The good news is that you don’t need to take hours and hours to get everything clean each time you go out. Other processes on the market will lead you to believe that cleaning your interior is a long and arduous process. The good news is that this one doesn’t have to be. At Proje’ we want to achieve the best possible results without seriously eating away at your free time. Our Benchmark and Fabric Upholstery Cleaner is specially designed to be applied directly to dirty surfaces, meaning that you don’t’ need to initially clean and hose your carpets before use. This will not only save you preparation time, but you won’t be waiting around for your mats to dry before you can put them back in your vehicle.
For older stains and deep-set dirt, again, spray the Fabric and Upholstery Cleaner solution directly onto your carpet or upholstery and agitate with our carpet and upholstery brush, before wiping clean with a microfiber towel before the lather dries. This time though, repeat the entire process as many times as is required to lift every last stain, bit of sunken debris and nasty odor out of the fabric. You can transform a 10-year old piece of fabric in minutes, and the effects are long-lasting. If you give your carpets a really good going over now, then the next time you come back from a walk with muddy feet, the process will take a matter of a couple of minutes.
Fall is the time when glass gets the dirtiest and there are a few issues with this. Aesthetically, you get smudges and dirty spots, which don’t look very nice. But then there’s the problem of safety. As dirt and debris build up on your windshield, you reduce visibility and run the risk of bits of dirt getting caught in your wipers, which will then smear dirt across the windshield even more. Ultimately, this can cause a sudden smear while you’re driving, which can be very dangerous.
Keeping your glass clean during fall isn’t hard – but it is important. Genesis Glass Cleaner breaks down dirt as soon as it touches the surface, leaving you free to smoothly wipe your glass clean. Also, because it’s ammonia-free and contains no airborne chemicals, it’s safe to use on the enclosed space of your auto interior. The versatility of our class cleaner means that you can use it on windows, windscreens, interior and exterior mirrors, the clear surface of your dashboard and your in-built display screen, so that the clean, smudge-free shine appears all over your vehicle. Where standard window cleaners will leave streaks and could damage your window tint, Genesis Glass Cleaner is truly universal, so you can use it with confidence. And while a standard microfiber towel will do the job fairly well, our specially-designed Diamond Window Towel is a weave towel makes the process of cleaning glass and mirrors smooth, quick and easy. Use the Diamond Window Towel to ensure that there are no streaks or swirls when you wipe your glass, so you don’t have to spend hours going over and over your work – it’s infuriating, but you can avoid it by purchasing this towel.
Of course, autumn can bring cold weather depending where you are, so also make sure that you’re going through the standard safety checks more regularly – especially your tire treads and pressures. You’ll also want to get hold of a good antifreeze to save time in the mornings – although make sure you go for one that is certified safe on paintwork, as you don’t want to eat away at all your good waxing and sealing work!
