Clean up after your kids – The Complete Proje’ Guide

Kids, eh? Messy, aren’t they? Often, cleaning up after your children can feel like a full-time job in itself, aside from all the other parenting duties you have to keep on top of. It’s quite enough trying to keep your house clean, but you may not even notice any damage in your car until it’s caused a problem, simply because you don’t ever sit in the back. Fortunately, when it comes to Proje’, there’s an equal and opposite reaction to every action. So, here’s the rundown on the commonest kid-related mishaps, and how to deal with them when you spot them.

  1. Fingerprints on the windows

It can be extremely frustrating finding little fingerprints or smudges on your windows. If you have just cleaned your car, your eyes will be naturally be drawn to any imperfections on your glass – partly because, if you’ve done it right, the rest of your car will be so spotless! It is notoriously difficult to clean every inch of glass without either leaving smudges or streaks during the drying process. At Proje’, we have worked tirelessly to bring you a glass cleaner specially designed to rid you of these issues. Just like other Proje’ products, Genesis Glass Cleaner breaks down dirt as soon as it touches the surface, leaving you free to smoothly wipe your glass clean.

The best way to guarantee results is to use a specialist glass cleaning towel – and we’ve made one for you; we call it the Diamond Window Towel.

Our specially-designed weave towel makes the process of cleaning glass and mirrors smooth, quick and easy. Use the Diamond Window Towel to ensure that there are no streaks or swirls when you wipe your glass, so you don’t have to spend hours going over and over your work. Spray Genesis Glass Cleaner directly on to the glass; two squirts per window should be enough to ensure complete coverage. Then, fold the towel in half and wipe in in a back and forth direction across the glass, ensuring that you cover the surface all the way to the corners. Make sure that the glass is completely dry before moving on the next section – refold the Diamond Window Towel and repeat if necessary.

  1. Food and drink stains on the upholstery…

This is inevitable – juice gets spilled, crumbs get dropped, sticky food gets… everywhere. But don’t worry – we’ve written a detailed blog post on How to Remove Stains from Your Carpets or Upholstery – just click and read up on the best way to get everything back to normal, using our Benchmark Fabric Cleaner and some great accessories.

But what about when you can hear Chief Wiggum’s voice saying, “Nothing gets chocolate out!” and you start to panic. But believe us, there’s no need.

We’ve written a separate blog post entirely for chocolate: Get Chocolate Stains Out. Follow these instructions and you’ll be breathing easy again in no time!

  1. …and worse!

Yeah, we know – food and drink are sometimes the least of the problems. “Stronger” stains need an extra step. So, follow the instructions on our blog post, How to Remove Stains from Your Carpets or Upholstery, then add one final step:

After spraying and scrubbing, take a microfiber towel and lay it over the top of the carpet. Now, get an iron and set it to steam. Wet the towel and lay the iron across the top of the carpet for half a minute. Now, apply pressure and rub the towel with the iron. You should see the stain transferring from the carpet to the towel like magic! Remove the iron, give the carpet a good wipe with another microfiber towel and check how the stain is progressing. Again, you might need to repeat this stage a couple of times, but it’s really gratifying as you can actually see the stain transferring over to the towel!

  1. Bits of food or dirt caught in the cracks

Food can get everywhere – even in between the buttons on your dash. Think smart – reach for the Easy Reach Crevice Brush and some of our Alpha Interior Cleaner. A couple of squirts, a dab with the brush and a quick wipe dry with a microfiber towel, and all’s well!
