But SiO2 products aren’t just about that classic candy apple shine – they’re also an extremely durable level of protection for your paintwork, and particularly effective when the sun is shining and the heat starts to cause problems. As it starts to get warmer, we need to be a bit more selective with when and where we work. It’s always best to work out of direct sunlight to avoid any issues with paintwork or other surfaces warping. This may mean working earlier or later in the day – or in your garage if you have one. But we also need to start thinking about the products we’re using, which will act as the first line of defense against the elements – let’s be realistic: you’re not always going to be able to park your car in the shade!
SiO2 forms an extremely effective layer of protection from the elements, and our Ceramic Spray Coating is the best SiO2 spray out there. UVA and UVB rays won’t penetrate it, pollen can’t touch it, and dirt and dust just fall away like water. One application will last for up to 12 months, so when we say we’re only charging you $24.95 for a bottle, you can really start to appreciate the value!
For best results, start off by washing an drying your car using our Vital Car Wash Soap and Ultimate Drying Towel. Then, remember to reach for a bottle of Prep Spray and give your paintwork the once over before getting started – think of these two stages as resetting your paintwork to zero, giving you a clean slate to work on.
Once you’re ready to go, start by spraying the Ceramic Coating directly on to a clean microfiber towel or one of our blue applicator pads. Apply evenly and ensure complete coverage of the area you are treating. You can wipe the Ceramic Spray Coating away after as little as 25 seconds, but we recommend that you leave it for 2 minutes. You can also repeat the process for added layers.
Keep the surface dry and away from the elements where possible, for up to 2-3 hours after application. Don’t worry – you’re not in any danger; you’re just giving the coating every chance to do the best possible job. Then, when you’re happy, just buff the surface with a second microfiber towel and excess ceramic residue will be removed.
We estimate the whole ceramic process (before curing) as only being around 30 minutes long, but the results will last you a year. That’s what we call a return on your investment! So, remember: for cleaning and protecting your car in summer, use SiO2. It was made to protect!
