\Welcome back to Proje’. We spend a lot of time talking about enjoyment and ease when it comes to cleaning and detailing. But one man’s enjoyment is another man’s labor, so we have a product range that can be as intensive or chilled out as you wish. So, what’s the quickest way to do a full detail in the quickest possible time, with the smallest amount of sweat and toil? We set ourselves the challenge of covering a full exterior – and interior – in an hour.
The Exterior
We’re ready! Time to get going with a full body wash. Now, the two-bucket method isn’t going to help us sneak under the 60-minute mark, so we’re combining our Vital Car Wash Soap with our Pressure Washer Foam Cannon to get a super-quick foaming effect. Fill it up with 2oz. of the soap, and water to the top, then let loose on your car! It should be virtually invisible! This whole process takes two minutes and then we’re going to leave the suds to sit on the car for an extra 5 minutes.
Here’s where we get really clever though. That 3 minutes isn’t going to be wasted, so we get going with the wheels. The great thing about our Redline Wheel Cleaner is that it’s really easy to use. Spray it on, wait until it turns red, give it a quick scrub and then rinse off. We’re really motoring now (no pun intended), so we cover the wheels with the cleaner and wait. The solution starts to turn red pretty quickly, so we’ve got enough time to break out the Barrel Brush and give the insides of the wheels a really quick, vigorous scrub. By the time we’ve done this, the five minutes are up and we use the foam cannon again, but this time only with water. Another 3 minutes and we’ve rinsed everything off the body and the wheels, and it’s time to move to the interior. Including refilling the cannon, we’re on 11 minutes so far!
The Interior
We’re feeling pretty confident now, so we ease our way into the interior to take a look. It’s not too bad, but we need to give everything a good once over. So, it’s time for our Benchmark Fabric Upholstery. The great thing about this product is that we can use it on everything inside the car, using different methods for the same product. For the upholstery, we don’t need to do too much, so we spray it on to a White Intensive 2-Sided Interior Towel and give the seats a good wipe. Then, for the carpets, we spray the cleaner directly on and agitate with a Carpet and Upholstery Brush before wiping away. For the plastic and vinyl surfaces, we use a Blue Applicator Pad with some Interior Satin Finish and give everything a good cross-hatch wipe, before finishing off with a few sprays of New Car Scent. Job done! All told, we’ve spent 31 minutes on the interior, but it looks – and smells – absolutely amazing!
The Final Touches
There are two things left, and we’ve got 18 minutes remaining. Firstly, it’s time to give the windows and windscreen a spray and wipe with our Genesis Glass Cleaner and Diamond Window Towel. Then, we’re going to give our clean paintwork a real shiny boost by using Surge Quick Detail Spray. This simple-to-use formula has been specifically developed not only to enhance shine, but also rejuvenate the existing surface, leaving behind that freshly waxed look. So we spray the vehicle, wipe it in with one side of a clean microfiber towel, then flip the towel over the to the dry side to buff the bodywork.
We’re giving everything a final buff and then end’s in sight, so how long have we taken? Get ready for the drum roll… 58 minutes 30 seconds! To recap, we’ve washed and rinsed the bodywork as well as using a specialist wheel cleaner. Then, we cleaned the carpets and upholstery, wiped down the surfaces and given the interior a fresh new scent before moving back outside to clean the glass and finish off with a final spray to get the paintwork looking extra great, and adding a layer of protection. And the best bit? We’ve done it all in under an hour!
Now, I admit that it was a manic hour, and I’m now real sweaty, but the process is complete and there is a fantastic-looking, extremely clean and shiny car on the road, ready to tackle the big city. And that’s what I call enjoying the process!
