Welcome back to the Proje’ blog! This week, we’re going to focus on a specific nuisance that can be really hard to clean: ink. If you have kids or you’ve just got unlucky with an explosion in your bag, you can end up with a really nasty-looking stain on your fabric or leather that can get you stressing out. Chances are that simple water and wiping isn’t going to cut it with an ink stain, but we’ve got the perfect product combination that can get everything looking perfect again, so you don’t need to spend money on an external service or replacing your fabric.

Removing Ink From Regular Upholstery

Ink is something we most definitely class as a tough stain, so we’re going to get serious straight away. Don’t delay – reach for the benchmark fabric upholstery. Its unique formula makes it easy to achieve perfect results with minimal effort. All you need to do is spray, scrub and wipe away the dirt. You can achieve perfect results with minimal effort, which makes Benchmark Fabric Cleaner the best car interior cleaner for those who want to achieve fantastic results in a short space of time. This is a lather cleaner designed to lift and remove stains, set debris and nasty odors from your carpets, fabrics and upholstery without leaving a chemical smell or risking the more sensitive fabrics in your vehicle. It is ammonia-free, bleach-free and solvent-free, so you clean and protect the interior of your vehicle at the same time, restoring the quality of your fabric and leaving you with a good-as-new look to your interior.

Don’t bother with a microfiber towel for ink stains - spray the Fabric and Upholstery Cleaner solution directly onto your upholstery and agitate with our carpet and upholstery brush, before wiping clean with a microfiber towel before the lather dries. Our carpet and upholstery brush is heavy duty in that it’s extremely well-made and sturdy as well as being really easy to hold in your hand, so you get a firm grip and can put your back in to it. At the same time though, the cushioned bristles protect
soft surfaces such as leather from any damage.

After you’re done, repeat the entire process as many times as is required to lift every last bit of ink stain out of the fabric. You can transform a 10-year old piece of fabric in minutes, and the effects are long-lasting.

Removing Ink From Leather

Leather is a specialist material, so we don’t treat it the same way. Now sure, you can use our benchmark fabric upholstery on your leather and it will probably do a really good job 9 times out of 10. It certainly won’t do any harm to your leather. But, for that one time when the ink is really set deep, you want to use a product that’s specifically targeted towards cleaning leather. Our Alpha Interior Cleaner & Leather Cleaner quickly and gently cleans all types of surfaces including leather,
vinyl and plastic. It removes dirt, oil, and tough stains and grime. It is a non-toxic cleaner that is made in small batches to ensure quality and effectiveness. It will penetrate your leather and work from the inside to lift out dirt, oil and grease and preserve the quality with no residue or deterioration.

As with the process for removing ink from regular upholstery, skip the microfiber application and spray Alpha Interior Cleaner & Leather Cleaner directly on the surface you are going to clean. Then, agitate the solution with an Easy Reach Crevice Brush. Our brushes are designed to remove stains but be soft enough that they will not damage the integrity of even your softest surfaces. Once you have generated a good lather, use a 2-Sided Towel to wipe away the solution – you want to use the Terry weave side to get a firmer clean.

You might find you need to repeat this process a couple of times to get the ink stain completely out, but it will work!

The next stage is to re-bind your leather so that it is protected and in the best possible condition. Our plush leather conditioner nourishes and moisturizes your leather, leaving it softer and less stressed after it has been bound and sealed by the leather cleaner. Not only that, but Plush Conditioner helps restore the condition of your leather even further by gently moisturising dry and worn parts of the leather that have been dried out by the sun. Use our Blue Applicator Pad for best results. Get a new pad and apply a generous amount of Plush Leather Conditioner. You won’t need
to worry about any leaks or spillages. Apply the applicator directly to the surface, working in a cross-hatch pattern to ensure full coverage. When you work in this way, you are ensuring that the conditioner penetrates around all the fibers within the leather – just using a horizontal or vertical motion will only give you 50% coverage around the minute cracks and crevices.

Them get your intensive 2-Sided Interior Towel and use that Terry weave side again for the best possible results. As with the first clean stage, you can repeat these steps; every time you do, you bring our more shine in the leather, so feel free to reapply several times depending on the finish you want to achieve – you never need to worry about wearing your leather down with our specially-designed products.

So, no matter the stain and no matter the type of material, ink doesn’t have to be your nemesis any more. Work with confidence and beat the stains!
