Welcome back to the Proje’ blog!

Tires can often be the most neglected part of a car exterior. We focus a lot on our bodywork and glass and that’s great – but if you really want to complement the fantastic job you’re doing on the rest of your car, you need tires to match.

It might not be something that you actively notice when you see pristine cars on the TV, but we can guarantee you this: they all have jet-black tires with no scuffs or fading anywhere. Of course, most people assume that just drenching them in your regular car wash solution will sort that out, but that’s not true at all. It’ll clean the tire in preparation for a dressing, but rubber is a very different animal to paintwork. It needs a product specifically designed to get the best results possible. And at Proje’, we’ve worked hard to design a fantastic water-based dressing is safe on all kinds of tires: Fusion Tire Dressing.

Fusion Tire Dressing is a water-based dressing infused with a specific formula to stick to your tire and not sling down the side of your car. When applied to a clean tire, this dressing will produce a great shine for multiple weeks. Fusion Tire Dressing creates a dark, uniform color while conditioning tires,
and its cream formula provides smooth, even product application while avoiding messy overspray.

Combat The Aging of Your Tires

Tires need looking after and cleaning in the same way that your paintwork and glass do. As they age, they will fray and turn slightly brown as mould is released when the tires heat up and cool down. Tire manufacturers add antiozonant to the rubber, which is a compound that stops tires cracking by surfacing at high speed. Antiozonant is extremely important for the longevity of your tires, and Fusion Tire Dressing is specifically designed as a water-based formula so as not to remove these vital antiozonants. This means that your tires will last just as long but will have that added shine to the colour of your choice when you use Fusion Tire Dressing. It is also grease-free, and completely adjustable; applying multiple coats and leaving the dressing for longer periods will produce deeper blacks, so if you prefer a slightly lighter colour to match your bodywork, then remove it after a few minutes and only use 1 or 2 coats.

There’s Something in the Water

There are a lot of silicone-based dressings on the market at the moment, but they work by sitting on top of the tire, which can cause “sling” – when the dressing flies off the tire and attaches itself to your bodywork, potentially causing damage. Fusion Tire Dressing is water-based, meaning that it is absorbed by the tire so that there is no slinging effect. Just make sure your tires are clean and dry before use, then apply a good amount of Fusion Tire Dressing to a Blue Applicator Pad. Then, evenly work Fusion Tire Dressing onto the face of the tire, working from bottom to top. An even application prevents any pooling in the cracks or natural grooves on your tire, so that your end result is an even shine all over the tire. Leave the dressing for about 10 minutes, then bust out our Black Mamba Wheel and Trim Towel to wipe away the excess dressing.

Oh, and as with all our products, don’t be afraid to repeat the process if you didn’t quite get the result you wanted first time around. Our products are safe and pH neutral, so you can go nuts!
