Welcome back to the Proje’ blog! What do you associate with New Year? For us, it’s resolutions – have you made any yet? Perhaps it’s fitness, diet, cutting back on the beer or even taking up a new hobby. But what about helping your car turn over a new leaf? There’s never a better time to take a new approach to your car than New Year – and we’ve got a range of products in our Reset Process that help you get a clean slate for a beautiful looking car moving into 2020. Here are the products:
Throwback Clay Lube
As you use your car day to day, contamination from brake dust, general pollution, sprays, and debris leaps up from the ground and gets all over your car. Often, metal contaminants cause tiny chips in your paintwork meaning that dirt can penetrate below the surface, which can lead to oxidation and rust issues. While protection is always a great way to ensure this doesn’t happen, we can all admit we’ve occasionally left ceramic coatings or wax seals too long. And for deep-set contamination, clay is the way forward. The light friction cause by rubbing the clay across your bodywork drags all the deep dirt out and keeps it out as you move the bar across your paintwork. Our clay lube works brilliantly and, when combined with a Clay Mitt, you’ll feel confident with this process.
Revive Final Polish
This polish has been engineered to produce a dust-free, swirl free, defect free, high gloss finish to any painted surface; clear coat, gel coat and even ceramic coated surfaces. Utilizing the latest micro-abrasive technology, it is the most effective and efficient way to remove light paint defects or as the last step in your polishing process. We’ve made sure this great product is safe on fresh paint and soft clear coats, leaving a mark-free finish on all paint colors. The combination of this and the no-dust formula ensures that you achieve fantastic results instantly and the clean-up process is as simple as a wipe with a microfiber towel – none of the long and taxing clean-ups that other products might leave you with.
Metal Polish
There are so many reasons that the metals on our vehicles start to fade. Oxidization, UV rays from the sun, water, dust and general pollution are all our enemies for sure, but the good news is that Metal Polish can bring it all back in an instant, and protect your metalwork from future damage, leaving a larger space of time in between applications which will save you money in the long run. By creating a blended formula, we have ensured that you are applying a sealant as you restore the shine to your metalwork, but don’t worry: it’s non-toxic, non-abrasive and completely safe on your metalwork. And remember: Proje’ Metal Polish works on all metals – and we mean all. Chrome, steel, copper, brass and all the most precious metals around – they will all have their distinctive shines restored in an instant with just a few minutes’ work. This is a product you can take inside your home after you’re done with your car!
And if you like machines…
…why not give a DA polisher a go? Check out our Leveling DA Polish for the latest micro-abrasive technology to remove moderate paint defects such as water spots, swirl marks, and oxidation with one simple, easy-to-use liquid on any clear coat, gel coat or even ceramic coated surfaces.
The most important part of using this polish is getting it right with your DA polisher – so check out the instructions below, then you’ll be good to go!
Step 1
Our polish is extremely effective, so you’ll only need to add 4 dime-sized dots of Leveling DA MF Polish at any one time. Apply to a clean microfiber pad on a dual-action machine, set to speed 2.
Step 2
Start with a 2ft x 2ft section, and always work out of direct sunlight for maximum protection. Gently apply the machine with the pad and product directly to the surface of your vehicle, making one full pass with the machine at speed 2. You don’t need to apply any pressure – this is a light pass across the surface. The beauty of using a DA machine is that it does all the hard work, so you don’t have to!
Step 3
Once the product has been evenly spread across the surface, you’re going to want to crank up the power a bit. Increase the machine speed to 4 and make go over the surface again, this time in a cross-hatch pattern to ensure full coverage and workability across the surface. Take your time, and remember: you don’t need to press down. Unlike with other levelling products, you won’t get any dust kicking up, so you should start to see results as you work.
Step 4
After you’ve made 3-4 cross hatch passes, wipe the panel with a clean microfiber towel and inspect the paint. You should be able to notice the difference; no oxidation marks, no swirls or stains, and a shinier, smoother surface.
Step 5
For really tough marked areas, repeat steps 1-4 again until you achieve the desired result. Detailing is all about perfection, and this is one process that really makes a difference when done thoroughly.
