Welcome back to the Proje' blog! We're starting to wind down for winter now, but before we retreat inside for a bit of annual hibernation, we want to make sure that your vehicle is fully set up for the cold. You don't want to be spending too much time outside – that's fair enough – but getting your car sorted now will save you a lot of time when spring rolls around; it'll save you valuable dollar too!

Here are our top three tips:

1) Clay
Our Proje' Traditional Clay Bar and Throwback Clay Lube will remove all roughness and dirt extremely easily with just a couple of passes, leaving your paintwork feel as smooth as crystal. A clay bar is the perfect way to remove all the contaminants that build up on your paintwork – especially in winter, with all that salt and mud about. It leaves a perfectly smooth surface to work on for your future processes. Think of it like an exfoliator, but for your car. All the dirt that has collected on your bodywork is literally sucked out by a clay bar, and ours also has some flexibility so that it stays flat against your car even when claying over a curve. The key to the perfect clay bar is not to go too heavy-duty. A good clay bar like the Proje' Traditional Clay Bar will remove all roughness and dirt extremely easily with just a couple of passes, leaving your paintwork feel as smooth as crystal. And in winter, try and double protect against any issues with extreme cold by warming your clay bar and lube up a little before starting to use them – and don't start if you think there's a danger of freezing. Best to take things inside a heated garage or try again on a slightly warmer day!

2) Seal
After a claying process, it makes good sense to apply a wax and sealant coat, so that the great work that the clay has done isn't exposed. Giving your car this three-tier protection is the most effective way to winter-proof your paintwork. So, time to break out our Hybrid Wax Sealant. It gives the best protection possible to your car's surface. This full polymer synthetic formula enhances shine and protection for every vehicle color. Hybrid Wax Sealant is special in the fact that it bonds directly with the surface creating a strong barrier against water spots, road grime, fallout and industrial contaminants for up to 12 months, so you get a great looking shine for a whole year – not just for the winter! Our Hybrid Wax Sealant doesn't just deliver a beautiful shine; it seals your newly shiny exterior from all kinds of contamination – brake dust, excrement, water, UV rays and pollution. It's durable, resistant to extreme cold – so you can use it even if you live in Siberia - and it will have your car turning heads everywhere you go with that smooth, radiant shine. The secret is in the ingredients; the synthetic formula provides the best results for the overall finish, but also creates a direct bond with the surface of your vehicle, meaning that a really strong seal is created, so nothing can get in.

3) Tires
Don't forget the tires! These are often the most overlooked part of an exterior, but that makes no sense at all; they're the parts of your car that are constantly in contact with the road! They sure do take some punishment, especially in winter, so let's give them some extra love. Our Fusion Tire Dressing is a water-based dressing infused with a specific formula to stick to your tire and not sling down the side of your car. When applied to a clean tire, this dressing will produce a great shine for multiple weeks. Fusion Tire Dressing creates a dark, uniform color while conditioning tires, and its cream formula provides smooth, even product application while avoiding messy overspray. As tires age, they will fray and turn slightly brown as mold is released when the tires heat up and cool down. Tire manufacturers add antiozonant to the rubber, which is a compound that stops tires cracking by surfacing at high speed. Antiozonant is extremely important for the longevity of your tires, and Fusion Tire Dressing is specifically designed as a water-based formula so as not to remove these vital antiozonants. This means that your tires will last just as long, but will have that added shine to the color of your choice when you use Fusion Tire Dressing. And in winter, when there's so much grit and debris on the roads, our dressing will deliver seriously powerful protection so that you're not left with a mess to fix come the new year!
