Welcome back to the Proje’ blog! This week, we’re going to focus on those pesky stains, smudges and smears that you find on your seats. Maybe you have kids or it’s just wear and tear, but you can end up with really nasty-looking stains on your fabric, upholstery, or leather and it’s just annoying. Chances are that water and wiping won’t work depending on the stain, but we’ve got you covered – so don’t fret about spending money on replacing fabrics.

Stain Removal

Our Benchmark Fabric Upholstery is a lather cleaner designed to lift and remove stains, set debris and nasty odors from your carpets, fabrics and upholstery without leaving a chemical smell or risking the more sensitive fabrics in your vehicle. It is ammonia-free, bleach-free and solvent-free, so you clean and protect the interior of your vehicle at the same time, restoring the quality of your fabric and leaving you with a good-as-new look to your interior. It’s best when applied directly to dirty surfaces, meaning that you don’t’ need to initially clean and hose your carpets before use. This will not only save you preparation time, but you won’t be waiting around for things like mats to dry before you can put them back in your vehicle, or seats to dry before you can sit back in them.

All you need to do is spray the solution directly onto your carpet or upholstery and agitate with our specially designed Carpet and Upholstery Brush to generate a decent amount of lather. The lather reacts gently with the fibers of your carpet to lift any deep-set dirt to the surface, and you can then wipe the surface clean with a clean microfiber towel before the lather dries. Simple! And remember, you can repeat the process as many times as you need for particularly tough stains.

But what about leather?

Good question! Leather is a specialist material, so we don’t treat it the same way. That’s not to say you can’d use our benchmark fabric upholstery on your leather. You can, and it wn’t damage it. But we have developed Alpha Interior Cleaner & Leather Cleaner specifically to quickly and gently clean the leather in your car. It also does a great job on vinyl and plastic. It removes dirt, oil, and tough stains and grime. It is a non-toxic cleaner that is made in small batches to ensure quality and effectiveness. It will penetrate your leather and work from the inside to lift out dirt, oil and grease and preserve the quality with no residue or deterioration.

Again, just spray it directly on the surface you are going to clean. Then, agitate the solution with a smaller brush - our Easy Reach Crevice Brush. These are soft enough that they will not damage the integrity of your leather. As with our other cleaners, get a good lather, then use a 2-Sided Towel to wipe away the solution – you want to use the Terry weave side to get a firmer clean.

And again, repeat if necessary! Then, move onto rebinding your leather with our plush leather conditioner, which nourishes and moisturizes your leather, leaving it softer and less stressed after it has been bound and sealed by the leather cleaner. This time, use our Blue Applicator Pad and apply a generous amount of Plush Leather Conditioner. Work in a cross-hatch pattern to ensure full coverage. Then, it’s time for that 2-sided towel again and you’re done.

Oh, and yes – you’ve guessed it – if you don’t get the perfect result first time, repeat the process! None of our products will ever do your car harm. That’s the way we make them!
