Welcome back to the Proje’ blog! This week, we’re going to focus on the toughest parts of your car to get clean and keep clean – your wheels.

Put simply, your tires are in constant contact with the ground and your wheels are right in the thick of it. Dirt, debris, dust – all the D’s – they’re there to mess your car up, so you need to be proactive and give those bad boys a bit of extra love to make sure they stay looking great. Follow this 3-step procedure to make sure you’re ahead of the game.

1. Wash

Almost all detailing starts off with a basic wash. Dressings, sealants, clay, ceramics – they’re all your detailing part 2, if you like. But what they’ve got in common is that they work a lot better if they’re being used on a recently washed and dried surface. So, get started with Vital Car Wash Soap, our unique handpicked blend that is designed to softly release dirt from the surfaces of your car while maximizing the protection that lies underneath. Its unique blend can be used in a traditional bucket or in a foam cannon that produces incredible suds. It is designed to softly release dirt while maximizing protection. Once you’re done with the wash section, give your tires and wheels a good dry with our Ultimate Drying Towel - a huge 25" by 36", it can hold up to 7 times its weight in water.

2. Decon

Now, let’s focus on the wheels specifically. Get a bottle of our Iron Decon, a specially targeted, pH-neutral solution that gets rid of embedded and bonded iron build-ups from brake dust. It works on both visible and invisible deposit build-ups, letting you know when it’s finished working by changing color. This allows for more effective decontamination, ensuring that painted and metallic surfaces aren’t left to progressively corrode even after regular detailing services. Our Decon is pH neutral, easy to wash away, and produces brilliant results.

3. Dress

Now, once you’ve dried your wheels off, you’re ready for the finishing touches to your tires. Reach for Fusion Tire Dressing, a water-based dressing infused with a specific formula to stick to your tire and not sling down the side of your car. There are a lot of silicone-based dressings on the market at the moment, but they work by sitting on top of the tire, which can cause “sling” – when the dressing flies off the tire and attaches itself to your bodywork, potentially causing damage. Fusion Tire Dressing is water-based, meaning that it is absorbed by the tire so that there is no slinging effect.

When applied to a clean tire, this dressing will produce a great shine for multiple weeks. Fusion Tire Dressing creates a dark, uniform color while conditioning tires, and its cream formula provides smooth, even product application while avoiding messy overspray. The more coats you use, the darker the black on your tires, so this is your chance to really customize your ride a bit and express yourself through your detail.

So, there you have it. A three-step program to getting your tires and wheels on track, protected, and looking amazing.
