Welcome back to the Proje’ blog. This week, we’re going to dive into the detail with a look at one of the most old-school products around: carnauba wax.

Now, at Proje’ we pride ourselves on finding the best, modern solutions for detailing. We’ve spared no expense on synthetic hybrids and blends that ensure the best results, the safest and easiest use, and the lowest environmental impact. But sometimes, you’ve got to go old school, and that’s what carnauba wax – or paste wax – is really about.

The Queen of waxes, this is the finest wax from the native Brazilian Carnauba Palm It works on glossy and clear paints, producing consistent and long-lasting shine, and it provides amazing natural protection from the elements. Loaded with high-end Brazilian Carnauba wax, our Old School Paste Wax really lives up to its name. Designed with nostalgia in mind and blended with the finest ingredients, Old School offers an experience that is only exceeded by the shine it produces. It’s safe and effective on all glossy paints and clear coats. Carnauba wax has long been used by enthusiasts and serious auto detailers as the number one way to create that vibrant wet shine that you see in the movies and showrooms. Suited to all paints and colours, our Old School Paste Wax is the highest-quality you can get; we’ve spared no expense, because this is the product that will deliver the most high-end result that will have other auto-enthusiasts turning their heads in envy.

Carnauba is naturally yellow in colour, which creates that classic shine we all know and love. A naturally occurring component of the Brazilian palm, it protects the leaves from all the elements. Brazil is known for extremes in weather, from heat to humidity and extreme downpours, but the palms survive and even thrive thanks to Carnauba. Carnauba leaves are picked and dried so that the wax can be removed in flakes, which are then expertly blended to create an automobile-friendly wax. We add softening compounds to make the application and spreading process quicker and easier, allowing you to create a smoother, more even gloss on your pride and joy.

With our Old School Paste Wax, your car will be protected from everything nature can throw at it, and a smooth waxed surface provides no safe haven for insects, dust and debris, so you get a cleaner finish for longer periods of time. Regular waxing will mean maximum protection from sun, water, debris and pollution. As with our Hybrid Wax, Carnauba seals and fills as you apply, so that no tiny cracks are left and no contamination or oxidation can take place, allowing you to enjoy your car with confidence.

A Few Tips

So, how do we use this Old School Paste Wax then? Well, for starters, always work out of direct sunlight for the best results. Apply a coat of Old School Paste Wax directly on to one of our Blue Applicator Pads. You won’t need too much to start with – we’re going to work in small sections to ensure the smoothest, most even application.

Next, put the face of the applicator flat on the surface of the car and, with light pressure, spread the wax onto the surface in circular patterns. The smoother your movements, the smoother the application, so mark out the area you’re going to concentrate on in your head and move in a continuous circle without stopping until you’re done. Then, sit back and leave the wax for 3-5 minutes to cure and set. Our wax is fast-acting, so you won’t need to leave it for any longer as you might with other waxes. Wipe any excess off with a clean microfiber towel, and then repeat these steps to complete the entire car. Patience is a virtue here; rush and you won’t achieve an even coating. This is a high-end wax and a real labour of love for auto-enthusiasts. You can make your car look a million bucks with due care and attention – you won’t be disappointed.

At Proje’, we’re as thorough as possible with every stage of the detailing process, so we like to clay our car before waxing. We’ve got our throwback clay lube, which does a great job. Clay, wash, wax – that’s the old school way! But it doesn’t stop there – we’ve also found another great use for our Old School Paste Wax – as a cleaner for wooden surfaces. Try applying a small amount of Old School Paste Wax to a wooden surface in your vehicle for added protection and shine. And of course, with it producing such excellent results inside your vehicle, there’s nothing to stop you taking it inside and giving your wooden furniture an amazing extra shine!
