Welcome back to the Proje’ blog! This week, we’re going to look at something that… well… you can’t really look at: the inner barrel of your rims. Sure, it’s easy to say “Out of sight, out of mind” – but that isn’t the best thing to do with your car, as it will almost always lead to bigger and more expensive problems down the line.

In the case of your barrels, you get the build-up of oil, dirt, and brake dust that kicks in from the ground and sits right in there, away from your eyes. Sure, you’ll be cleaning your wheels and dressing your tires, but in the meantime, it all builds up in there and rust becomes an issue. Eventually, that problem is going to become your problem.

The inner barrels are the deepest parts of your wheels that you will need to reach for cleaning purposes. This isn’t purely about depth though; a thin but long brush will get inside the barrel with no problem, but then won’t cover the surface area you need to get a really thorough clean. You need a brush that’s large, long and wide. This is why we created the Inner Rim Barrel Brush.

At just $19.99, you get a lot of brush for your buck! It’s a big plush brush with one main use in mind, to clean the inner barrel of your rim. With its synthetic fibers and long handle it makes cleaning the hard-to-reach parts of your rim not only easy, but enjoyable again. Simply slide the barrel brush between the spokes of your rim to clean the barrels of any rim; painted, chrome, aluminum etc. Its bristles are flexible and soft enough that you can push them right in there without any danger of scratching, but it’s sturdy enough that they dislodge all the build-up we mentioned earlier, sitting deep within your barrels.

Our barrel brush also has a plug handle, which is designed to protect your hand and knuckles when you’re digging deep. Hold the brush near the protective guard and you’ll be assured safety as you work the brush in and out of the barrel. We don’t just think about cleaning at Proje’ – it isn’t enjoyable if you get hurt, so all our products prioritize customer safety just as much as brilliant results!

But Don’t Forget the Outer!

Of course, we need to mention the outer parts of the wheel too, as the Barrel Brush is a complementary process to cleaning your wheels and tires. And when you pair the Barrel Brush with Redline Wheel Cleaner and Fusion Tire Dressing, this is a combo that you cannot live without.

A clean barrel will provide a superb, pristine background that will really bring out the cleanliness of your wheels and rims after using our Redline Wheel Cleaner and Fusion Tire Dressing. Redline Wheel Cleaner is a powerful all-purpose cleaner that gets right into your wheel wells to break down all the toughest build-ups of dirt, brake dust and grease or contamination caused by the breakdown of surrounding metals at high temperatures. High-performance vehicles these days use steel hybrid brakes, and heavy braking erodes the surface, causing huge numbers of steel shards to mix with other contaminants and embed themselves all over the wheel area of your car all the way down to the calipers. Not only is it extremely difficult to get right under the wheel to scrub and scrape the problem away, but on the superficial surface, excessive scrubbing can cause issues of its own; swirling patterns on paint or small scratches that can collect more dirt and eventually grow in to aesthetic problems. With Redline wheel cleaner, no scrubbing is necessary. Once it has finished working, the sodium in the formula turns red, signalling the time to wipe it away – no scrubbing required. This means that you can easily reach in to the most inaccessible of areas and rid your undercarriage of any growing problems without breaking a sweat.

Once you’ve got the hand of Redline, move onto Fusion Tire Dressing. This is a water-based dressing infused with a specific formula to stick to your tire and not sling down the side of your car. When applied to a clean tire, this dressing will produce a great shine for multiple weeks. Fusion Tire Dressing creates a dark, uniform color while conditioning tires, and its cream formula provides smooth, even product application while avoiding messy overspray. Just spray it on an Applicator Pad, apply and leave for 10 minutes, then wipe away with a thick, sturdy towel.

And then it’s time for your Barrel Brush!
