Welcome back to the Proje’ blog! Now, we’re realists here at Proje’. We know that nothing can truly protect against the passing of time. Whether it’s your paintwork, your leather, or your rims, time takes its toll and scratching, fading, and even rust can’t be kept at bay indefinitely.

But we do believe that if you keep your car in good condition and take pride in your detailing, that our products do more than protect – they can also restore. So, not only do you have a chance to be proactive, you can also be reactive and revive worn, stained, or faded parts of your vehicle, restoring them to their former glory.

That’s exactly the principle behind our Alpha Trim Gel – to restore faded trim, then protect it from future fading at the same time.

Let’s take a look at how it works.

What’s in the bottle?

The first thing you’ll notice about Alpha Trim Gel is that it’s true to its name – it’s a thick gel, not a spray. The reason for this is that it works by filling the plastic of your trim with special polymers that soak into the surface. What follows is a smooth surface, protected from harmful rays. It’s a thick, sticky gel so it won’t wash off when you next decide to clean your car, either.

Of course, this thickness also means you won’t get any stray drops and because it dries almost immediately, you won’t need to worry about streaks or smudges. It’s also water-repellent to give it extra protection from the elements – and your main cleaning processes.

You’ll find that Alpha Trim Gel is the same size as our other main products – 16oz – and like our other fantastic sprays, gels, waxes, and ceramics, a little goes a real long way. Check out our step-by-step guide to see just how long…

How to Use Alpha Trim Gel

We keep our products simple to use at Proje’ because we want detailing to truly be for everybody. So, all you need to do is follow these three steps to get your trim looking fantastic again.

First, make sure that your trim is clean and dry before use. Then, Apply Alpha Trim Gel using our Blue Applicator Pad. But remember, we said a little goes a long way – and we meant it! In fact, you will only need a small circle of gel to start with.

Try and get as even a coverage as possible, so that your end result is a real even color. To do this, apply the gel in small stages with three or four rubs per section before moving on. The result is immediate so you will have color to compare to as you move along your trim section. That comparison step is super helpful, as it gives you an indication of whether you need to go over a section again. There’s no harm in doing this but remember: be sparing!

Make sure you keep checking for excess residue. It’s no big deal if there’s a bit; nobody’s perfect! If you spot any remains on the surface of the trim, just reach for one of our Black Mamba 16 x 16 Wheel and Trim Towels and wipe it away. All the important stuff will have filled the gaps in the plastic and set already, so you needn’t worry that you’re removing your hard work!

And that’s it! Just $20.99 will mean your trim can maintain its old glory and be fully protected for a long, long time!
