Welcome back to the Proje’ blog! This week, we’re all about expanding your horizons. Fine, you might have got your car washing technique down, but your paintwork isn’t all your car has to offer – what about your wheels, tires, and the interior of your vehicle?

This is our guide to completely cleaning your car – both inside and out!

Step 1: Nail the Basics

It’s not the be all and end all of car detailing, but it’s undeniable that washing your paintwork has the biggest visual impact on your vehicle. After all, it’s like your car’s skin!

So, let’s start by reaching for Ceramic Wash Soap – a classic two-in-one that both washes and protects. We’re not kidding when we say it’s the best ceramic wash we’ve ever seen! While the ceramic element allows you to recharge your ceramic coating and enhance that amazing gloss you get with ceramic detailing products, this soap also produces incredible suds and a wash to match up to anything out there.

Our Ceramic Car Wash Soap is formulated with nano-SiO2 properties that deliver a high-level hydrophobic wash, leaving behind a layer of ceramic protection that results in that awesome shine. But better yet, if your car doesn’t have a ceramic coating, Ceramic Car Wash Soap will not only still do its cleaning job; it’ll give excellent water shedding too.

Step 2: The Real Gnarly Stuff

When people think about wheels, what they’re actually thinking about is often tires – but that’s something completely different! We’re talking about the metal wheel itself – including the barrel.

Now, you might be thinking, “Why clean something I can’t see?” The answer to that is simple. The force of braking causes a mixture of hot iron and brake dust to be sprayed all around the interior of your rims – but it will also inevitably collect on your outer bodywork. A lot of that damage can go unseen for long periods of time, but these residues are highly corrosive and, if left, can cause permanent damage to paint and bodywork. Where Redline Wheel Cleaner comes in, is providing a powerful all-purpose cleaner that gets right in to your wheel wells to break down all the toughest build-ups of dirt, brake dust and grease or contamination. The active ingredients in the cleaner neutralize any acidic presence, allowing for a smooth wipe clean and an end to any danger of long-lasting damage. But by also being a scrub-free product, you avoid the risk of swirling patterns on paint or small scratches that can collect more dirt and eventually grow in to aesthetic problems.

How do you know when it works? The liquid turns red as the active sodium reacts, leaving you to rinse and dry!

Step 3: Tires to Match

Now, on to those tires! What you’re aiming for here is a striking, shiny black that stands out and looks new, while not removing any of the antiozonant that the manufacturers coat your tires with, as this guarantees the longevity of your tires.

By making our Fusion Tire Dressing water-based, it guarantees that the antiozonant remains intact, but we’ve also added a formula that means the dressing sticks to your tire and is absorbed by it, removing the risk of it “slinging” down your paintwork, and creating a dark, uniform color that looks just like new! All you need is a Blue Applicator Pad, one bottle of Fusion, and a bit of patience! Start at the bottom of your tire and work evenly toward the top, before leaving for ten minutes then reaching for one of our Black Mamba Trim Towels to wipe away any excess!

Step 4: Time to Look Inside

Now, we could spend ages telling you about all our wonderful interior products – in fact, we did just last week! But what we’re looking for here is a catch-all that produces great results to end this four-step cleaning process.

That’s where Alpha Interior Cleaner and Leather Cleaner comes in. This safe, pH-balanced formula quickly and gently cleans all types of surfaces inside your vehicle, including leather, vinyl and plastic. It removes dirt, oil, and tough stains and grime all over your car, leaving no residue and smelling of Febreze, rather than nasty chemicals.

The secret to using Alpha is generating a bit of a lather, so spray it directly on the surface you are going to clean, then agitate the solution with a brush (check out our brush range to choose the right type for the area you’re working on). Once you have generated a good lather, use one of our 2-Sided Towels to wipe away the solution, using the terry weave material side if you want to work that bit harder.

And once you’ve completed everything, step back and admire your handiwork. Looks pretty different, doesn’t it?!
