Welcome back to the Proje’ blog! This week, we’re going to help you get to the bottom of our brush range. Six great brushes, six very different, but equally important roles. Combine them and you’ve got every inch and every crevice of your car covered. Let’s take a look!

What’s in a Brush, Anyway?

There are two things to consider when choosing a brush for a specific detailing task: size and type of fibers. Too large and you won’t be able to get in the little gaps, too small and you will waste a whole load of time covering a small surface area when it isn’t necessary. There are also several variations in roughness and fiber. It’s important to be soft around materials that can scratch, but tough on areas where debris has become interwoven with the strands on your fabrics. We get that this can be a bit mystifying to begin with, but once you get used to it, it’s easy as can be. Take a look at our guide below to help you choose the best detailing brush for your car.

First, three brushes for the interior…

  1. Easy Reach Crevice Brush

The Easy Reach Crevice Brush makes cleaning the small cracks and crevices of your interior simple and effective, saving you time and energy. When you use it with Alpha Interior Cleaner & Leather Cleaner, it will make light work of any tough-to-reach greasy patches on your interior. It’s safe on all plastics, leather and interior trim and specially designed to reach into any crevice, no matter how small, awkward or angular. In fact, this brush is perfect for use in conjunction with all our Interior Processes. You can use it either before or after to beautifully complement your work with our Plush Leather Cleaner or Benchmark Fabric Upholstery.

  1. Carpet and Upholstery Brush

This sturdy, deep-reaching brush makes cleaning floor mats, carpeting and cloth seats simple and effective, saving you time and energy. Its streamlined grip makes it easy to hold so that you can really get into your fabric and remove every last bit of dirt, when paired with Benchmark Fabric Upholstery or our Alpha Interior & Leather Cleaner. It will make light work of any interior, but the brush strands are soft enough to make it perfectly safe for use on all cloth and carpeting material.

  1. Pet Hair Brush

Our Pet Hair Brush is simple the most effective way to remove stubborn pet hair that has weaved its way through the carpeting fibers. This is possible the most dreaded of jobs, as pet hair so easily becomes entangled, resulting in a carpet that doesn’t respond to vacuuming. It generates static electricity as you brush, which serves as a natural magnet, pulling hair from your carpets with extreme effectiveness. Use this again and again in conjunction with a vacuum cleaner and wash with warm water after use, so that all hair is removed from the brush in preparation for reuse.

And now… three brushes for outside your car.

  1. Tire Dressing Short Handle Brush

Brushes don’t just have to be for wiping dirt away. An applicator brush is extremely useful on uneven surfaces, as its sturdier bristles allow you to really get in to all the nooks and crannies. This short handle brush is great for shining all kind of tires and grooves when Fusion Tire Dressing is applied directly to the brush. Add a generous amount of Fusion Tire Dressing to the top of the bristles and work from the bottom of the tire to the top in a clockwise direction until desired shine is achieved. It’s also easy to wash clean after use – just keep our 3.5 Gal Plastic Bucket nearby for prolonged use.

  1. Rim Cleaning Brush

For cleaning around the surface of your wheels, the rim cleaning brush is idea. Its handle length means you can penetrate deep and at awkward angles, due to the head shape and design. As with the short handle brush, it is designed to be soft enough to make contact with polished and painted surfaces with no heart in mouth moments. This brush will easily navigate any OEM, custom or aftermarket wheels, as well as around calipers and behind spokes. Because of the typical build-up of oil and dirt around your rims and calipers, this brush is designed to be extremely effective at removing debris, brake dust and oil. Use this after cleaning your exterior with Vital Car Wash Soap, or after Redline Wheel Cleaner for maximum effect and maximum satisfaction!

  1. Barrel Brush

The Barrel Brush is a big plush brush with one main use in mind, to clean the inner barrel of your rim. With is synthetic fibers and long handle it makes cleaning the hard to reach parts of your rim not only easy, but enjoyable again. Simply slide the barrel brush between the spokes of your rim to clean the barrels of any rim; painted, chrome, aluminum etc. A clean barrel will provide a superb, pristine background that will really bring out the cleanliness of your wheels and rims after using our Redline Wheel Cleaner or Fusion Tire Dressing. Our barrel brush also has a plug handle, which is designed to protect your hand and knuckles when you’re digging deep. Hold the brush near the protective guard and you’ll be assured safety as you work the brush in and out of the barrel.

And there you have it – six brushes to complement a whole range of processes, each with its own specific size, purpose, and makeup of fibers. Simple, isn’t it?
